Merkavim Ltd. is a modern, top-of-the-line bus manufacturer, jointly owned by Volvo Bus Corporation and Mayer Cars & Trucks Ltd., recognized by RDW as an authorized European manufacturer, and chosen by Volvo as its major body builder in the Middle East.

Building buses since 1946, the company develops, designs and manufactures a large variety of advanced, durable and elegant models, including tourist coaches, inter-city buses, low-floor city buses, low-entry buses, armored buses, prisoner buses, low-floor minibuses and custom-made VIP buses – all made of stainless steel and based on chassis by Volvo, Man, Mercedes and Daf.

Merkavim’s headquarters and state-of-the-art plant are situated in the modern Caesarea Industrial Park in Israel. Its 100,000 sq. meter manufacturing facility is one of the most advanced in Europe today, featuring up-to-the-minute technologies, fast and efficient production processes, and the most stringent safety and environmental standards.

With a professional staff of about 450, led by an expert team of engineers, Merkavim manufactures approximately 500 buses every year, for both the local and international markets.
