Merkavim is an advanced, 21st century bus manufacturer, with expert professional teams using state-of-the-art facilities and technologies, to create buses that meet the requirements and preferences of sophisticated modern-day customers.

State-of-the-art plant - Planned and built from the start as a modern bus factory, Merkavim’s production plant is a spacious, efficient facility, covering over 25,000 square meters, equipped with the latest technologies and managed through an advanced SAP system. In 2007 alone, this impressive operation manufactured over 500 top-quality buses.
Stainless steel bodies - All Merkavim bodies are made of stainless steel, the durable, corrosion-proof metal that ensures easy, cost-effective maintenance and a much longer service life than ordinary iron. It is also worth noting that production processes involving this high quality material are remarkably friendly to the environment.
A choice of chassis - Merkavim’s customers may choose the chassis they prefer for their buses: Volvo, Man, Mercedes or Daf. Our plant has the ability and technological know-how to adapt the body to any of these platforms!
A choice of models - Merkavim’s offering includes a range of transportation products for every need: tourist coaches, city buses, intercity buses, low-floor minibuses and even a unique armored coach.
Customer-oriented flexibility - Always listening to the customer’s needs, Merkavim’s team is able to tailor specific features to special requests.
Development capabilities - A bus is an extremely complex product, consisting of numerous items and intricate systems, and Merkavim’s expert team of engineers provides full technological support for this demanding challenge. Using advanced 3D and CAD computer technologies, and collaborating with leading designers, they develop everything – from tiny items, through ergonomic interiors, to complete new models. All operations facilities are also designed in-house, constantly upgrading the plant’s production capabilities.
Quality standards - All facilities, processes and products meet the most demanding international standards, including COP, EC/2001/85, ISO 9001 and R66. Every new product coming out of the Merkavim factory undergoes extensive tests for quality, strength and durability, and receives the certification of the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and the RDW Center for Vehicle Technology in the Netherlands.
